Today in extension we had the Paideia seminar for term three. We were all split into different groups: The Nutritionists, Doctors, Parents, Shop Owners, Teachers. I was in the nutritionist group with Makayla. We shared different opinions about what we thought in our groups perspective. One of the most intriguing facts that i heard was what Justice said. He said that "50% of Maori adults are obese and 69% of pacific adult are obese" which was very scary for Mrs Lagitupu even got him to repeat it. I think it was the most interesting fact we heard. Another one of the most intriguing facts for me was that in America 600,000 people die every year because of heart disease.
The Paideia Seminar was a really interesting seminar of sharing facts and information. I achieved my goal as well: not to talk to much. Maybe you should get into practising like this it is a good skill to be able to develop language skills like that.
This is a record of my time at Pt England School in Auckland, New Zealand..

How to Prepare for the Cross Country
Walt: Use cause and effect language in our writing
In our school we have the cross country, and it is for all of the year groups. When we prepare for it we do a lot of running. But a big problem is we only prepare for the physical side of it, and that’s only running, we need to prepare for mental and physical challenges. When we run a short distance it is good for our mental and physical health because it is giving us boosts in our Mental and physical well being. But when we do a long distance we are scared for our physical side and that affects our mental well being. In this piece of writing I will give you tips on how to prepare yourself for the cross country.
To improve our mental health we can say to ourselves “I can do this” and “This will be great” you fake it till you make it and then it gets carried to your heart. When you’re running and you feel bad you can say encouraging things like “I will do this” and that seems to be really helpful. Professional athletes often have trouble with this but now is a good time for you to start.
That was mentally preparing what about physically preparing? Well good question. At school we do running but at home you can prepare well too. You can have a healthy balanced diet and get plenty of rest at home you will have lots of energy and it will be burned of. As well as some of your body fat. That gets burned when you do exercise and turns into energy.
When the race starts you can go at a nice easy jog. Because then you wouldn’t have burned up all your energy and won’t have trouble running the whole way. You can also pace yourself. Go nice and easy the entire way because then you won't have to stop or walk some parts.
Those are my tips for preparing for the cross country. I hope that they are useful to you. Who knows? You might even come first next time.
Task Description: For this task i made a new dock filed it and turned it in. I wrote in my Work using the structure T.I.I.C (Title,Introduction,Information,Conclusion). I then posted it onto my blog to a high standard.

Attitude Puberty Talk Recount
Today Tony from attitude decided to talk to us about puberty. He told us that we physically and mentally change while we go through this. He started with a talk for both of the genders and then broke down to different parts.
First he talked about how our bodies physically change. He told us that we grow hair everywhere, we get pimples everywhere and we sweat …….... Everywhere. He told us to always have a plan. One thing he told me that I thought was interesting was that if your skin is dehydrated then your skin has no dots when they do the test.
Then he went into the mental changes like when you are going through puberty you seem to be more embarrassed by things. Like when your mum and dad do “embarrassing things” we are all like “Ugh mum dad please just stop”. We also notice that relationships change as we go through puberty we seem to notice the other gender. But he said we should just keep hold of our friendships.
Overall what “wonderful experience” it was.

Roasting Marshmallows on a Stick
On Wednesday the 10th of October my brothers, my dad, my stepmum and I all decided we would roast marshmallows on a stick and eat them with biscuits while my dad got the big clay pot and got the fire prepared Jayne and I went to the supermarket to get the Marshmallows and other supplies. When we got back the fire was going and things were ready to start roasting dad gave me a sharpened stick and i put on a marshmallow. My first marshmallows were a bit black and crisp but they still tasted delicious. Then I tried doing it just above the flickering flames. and it was the perfect brown shade. I at off the crispy bit then roasted the inside and did that until the marshmallow was completely eaten. A few times I put the marshmallow between a jaffa chocolate thin.
The holidays are a good time to do things like roast marshmallows. You should do it too instead of being a slouch and watching Netflix all day. Its healthy to

Beach Life in the Country
The Sun's Ray's are like a warm Kiss
Apollo's gift is a wonderful bliss
If I could i would bottle it up
In a jar or maybe even a cup
Then i could take it anywhere
And be in bliss everywhere
The sun warms the sand which slips through my fingers
And leaves a tingly feeling which always lingers
When we leave there's cows all over the road
we think we've past them But theirs more a whole load
This is what its like at the beach in the country
Where the beach is quiet and the road is crunchy
Apollo's gift is a wonderful bliss
If I could i would bottle it up

Today me my brothers and my mum went to the movies to go and see the movie The House with a Clock in its Walls.
Warning!!!! Major Spoilers!!!!!
It's a good movie about a young boy called Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who goes to move with his warlock Uncle Jonathan (Black Jack) not knowing he is a warlock at the time. He finds out that he is a warlock and starts learning. After a fight with a friend he wants to show of and ends up raising an old powerful bad warlock who plans on restarting the world. With help from his Uncle Jonathan and his next door neighbour/witch (Cate Blanchette) Florence will he save the world from restart and find his magic capabilities.

Small foot review
On the first day of the holidays my brother's, Kauri and Toran, went to the cinemas to go watch the new movie Small foot.
Warning!!! Major Spoilers Below.
It is a great movie set in the mountain range in the Himalayas where yetis build up there society around myths and legends. in this mountain where a young yeti spots a human he wants to prove himself right because everyone thinks he's lying he goes on a huge adventure.
Meanwhile a human animal lover is trying to get noticed on the internet and has an idea to be a youtube fraud and has the idea to get a "real life" yeti on camera. Migo finds him and takes him back to the village.
Okay I've said enough. All in all it was a really good movie and i recommend watching it. If you don't like musicals I warn you it has musical numbers in it. That's all for now I will see you later BYYYEEEEEEEEEEEE
