Planting a tree!

Today Mum, Kauri, Toran, Whakairo, and I planted a tree. Specifically a griselinia tree. I put it in the ground while mum digged the whole in the earth. The boys watched. The reason we went and planted a tree is because we want to save the world one tree at a time.
Hookey helped to of course!
You no doubt have heard of the Amazon rain forest and my mum was very passionate about it. So she bought a tree sapling at the warehouse. We planted it in mums paddock and we cant wait to see it grow into a beautiful tree.

KPMG trip

Today the extension group and a few selected students went to one of their termly trips to KPMG. This KPMG trip was based on ecology. First we had a talk by Tonkin and Taylor which is an organisation, that focuses on ecology. They work on sustaining the connections between the environment and the creatures in that environment.
Then we had a talk at sustainable coastlines and it was really interesting. Sustainable coastlines was all about reducing the pollution that we make to keep our coastlines and waterways beautiful and healthy.
Then we returned to the KPMG building and had lunch. Then we did some activities that were about sustaining a certain maori god's domain.

Riverhead Forest Trail Run

Today I went to Riverhead with Jayne, Kauri and Roman. You don't need me to tell you why but i'll tell you anyway. We went there to do a trail run that's a part of the Xterra Macpac trail run series. It was slippery and muddy and beautiful. There was one part where there was actually a line of people waiting to climb this one extremely slippery and steep hill made of clay. It was a very tough challenge. But the whole thing was really muddy and slippery. I even fell on my butt a few times. The run was a bit slow at times because I did my best trying to not slip in the giant puddles of gloppy mud.

This is a simple picture of how muddy I got. After the run I had three free sausages for lunch and it was totally worth it.

Heart and Soul

This song is heart and soul and I chose it because it is an easy song on the piano. Sadly I had no one to do the other part with me so I did one bit by myself. It's a simple song and easy to learn if you have good ears.

Do aliens exist?

Aliens are a common subject in the entertainment department, and there has been a considerable amount of interest in the idea that we are not alone in the universe. They’ve been in blockbuster movies, and popular posts in the media. But do they actually exist?
The universe is huge. You can’t even begin to imagine how massive it is. There are one hundred billion galaxies in the universe and those galaxies have thousands of stars inside of them, and those stars will most likely carry a solar system of exoplanets. One of those exoplanets in one of those solar systems is bound to be in a goldilocks zone and have life.
Some species on earth have amazing adaptations to help them in extreme conditions. What’s more extreme than another planet? Like Europa One of jupiter's moons, has water and that’s essential for life . After all the first reproductive species on earth evolved in the water. So it’s possible that there could be life on Europa even though it’s so far away from the goldilocks zone.
Why is the government investing in finding Aliens? The government could have enough evidence to prove that aliens do exist. Otherwise they would be blowing so much money that goes into finding these extraterrestrial beings.
So there is my evidence to conclude the fact that extraterrestrial life does exist.  Also area 51.
