Winter Learning Journey Day 4: Activity 2

Whale rider is a movie about a young girl named Paikea who is trying to prove to her grandfather that she will be a better chief than any boy could ever be. While she does that she fights a boy with a taiaha and swims to the rocks and retrieves her grandfathers whale bone necklace. I rate it 4 out of 5

    Kia ora Bethan,

    I'd love to know what you thought of the trailer(s) for the Whale Rider movie. Did you like them? What rating would you give them out of 5 stars, if 1 star = bad movie and 5 stars = great movie?

    Whale Rider is a pretty iconic (famous) kiwi film. The young girl who plays Paikea was nominated for a huge acting award called an 'Oscar' for her performance in this movie. At the time, she was the youngest actress to be nominated for a 'Best Actress' Oscar.

    I hope that you will get the chance to watch the movie one day!
