Winter learning Journey: Day 5: Activity 2

  1. Kia ora Bethan,

I love that you have chosen Sir Edmund Hillary as your famous New Zealander for this activity. He really is a pretty amazing man. I have always admired his bravery and courage. It must have been incredibly stressful to train for, and eventually, climb to the summit of Mt Everest. It was an incredibly dangerous activity and I am quite sure that he must have been pretty scared, at various points, that we wasn't going to make it. Fortunately, he persevered and was able to realise his lifelong goal.

Do you have any special goals or aspirations? Is there anything that you really, really want to do or to achieve this year at school? My goal for this year is to develop a blogging programme for this coming summer that is available to schools all over New Zealand. It is a pretty ambitious goal but I'm going to do my best to make it come true. Fingers crossed!

Keep up the great work with your blogging, Bethan. I can see that you're really, really close to finishing. You only have one more day left to go. You can do it!

    Cheers,
    Rachel :)

  2. Hi Bethan!

This is an amazing blog post! What a awesome person to choose. I loved the two facts that you put on your presentation. I did not know that he was knighted by the queen after climbing Mount Everest I thought he just got Victory!!

Awesome Blog post Bethan Keep it up!

    Amelia :)
