  1. Hi Bethan,

I like the questions that you have generated for your (imaginary) interview with Laura Dekker. I would also love to know how she stays calm, particularly in the face of an impending storm. It must be so scary and nerve wracking!

I was actually just listening to the radio here at work and they were talking about boating and stormy seas. Apparently the weather is going to be so bad in Wellington that they have cancelled the ferry that typically runs from Wellington to Picton. We actually talk about the ferry in Day #4 of the Winter Learning Journey programme.

Speaking of boats and ferries, have you ever been on a big boat or a ferry? I sometimes take the ferry back and forth to Waiheke island and/or to the north shore of Auckland. There is a lovely little neigbourhood called 'Devonport' on the north shore that I sometimes take Aronui to visit. They have some nice cafes for breakfast and a nice park to play in.

I hope that you get the chance to go to Devonport one day. I would recommend that you go in the summer time so that you can have an ice cream and sit by the water :)

Keep up the great work with your blogging, Bethan!

    All the best,

    Rachel :)

    2. Hi Bethan,

Yes, it is so cool! I haven't had the chance to visit Russell by boat. Did you ride from Auckland to Russell?

      Cheers,
      Rachel
