Dear Reader: A Satire Writing

Walt: use satire to express meaning

Dear Reader
You MUST read the piece of writing under this letter. It is my best piece of work. Based around the story of a young girl and her dog. You must read it because it is the best piece of writing you will ever encounter in your miserable life. Ha it might even make your life happy.

Be warned though it will jerk tears into your eyes and pull on your heart-

Woah woah woah. Just wait a minute here .You seriously can’t just be lying in your letter to your readers.

Heh Heh what are you talking about? Me the legendary Safrina lie to her beloved readers.

Yeah you’ve done it before. Remember Swashbucklers of  Davanet. That story sucked. And it was written by you, the “legendary magnificent”  Safrina Belladonna.

Don’t be ridiculous Mabel Darling. Swashbucklers of Davanet was a wonderful piece of writing. It had five stars on Safrina Reviews.

That’s because Safrina Reviews is your YouTube channel. It has 6 subscribers and they’re all your family members.

Nonsense it has 7 subscribers. But that’s not the point. Now let me finish my letter.

Huff. Fine. But i’m warning you reader her writing isn’t the best. It's the “most amazing in the world”.

Thank you Mabel! Now where was I ah yes. Read the story and subscribe to my YouTube channel Safrina Reviews. Here is the writing. Enjoy. Lots of love and merci. Safrina Belladonna

Once upon a time there was a girl and a dog the girl loved the dog but the dog didn’t love her. So with lots of treats and tummy rubs the girl one the dogs cupboard love. They are the best of friends. The end.

Safrina I honestly have no idea how you pay your bills.

I work as a waitress at the coffee club

Oh well that's an okay job

True

P.S. your writing sucks.

Mabel!

Hey i’m a teller of the truth

Paideia Seminar Term 3 Yr 7&8 Extension.

Today in extension we had the Paideia seminar for term three. We were all split into different groups: The Nutritionists, Doctors, Parents, Shop Owners, Teachers. I was in the nutritionist group with Makayla. We shared different opinions about what we thought in our groups perspective. One of the most intriguing facts that i heard was what Justice said. He said that "50% of Maori adults are obese and 69% of pacific adult are obese" which was very scary for Mrs Lagitupu even got him to repeat it. I think it was the most interesting fact we heard. Another one of the most intriguing facts for me was that in America 600,000 people die every year because of heart disease.

The Paideia Seminar was a really interesting seminar of sharing facts and information. I achieved my goal as well: not to talk to much. Maybe you should get into practising like this it is a good skill to be able to develop language skills like that.

How to Prepare for the Cross Country

Walt: Use cause and effect language in our writing

In our school we have the cross country, and it is for all of the year groups. When we prepare for it we do a lot of running. But a big problem is we only prepare for the physical side of it, and that’s only running, we need to prepare for mental and physical challenges. When we run a short distance it is good for our mental and physical health because it is giving us boosts in our Mental and physical well being. But when we do a long distance we are scared for our physical side and that affects our mental well being. In this piece of writing I will give you tips on how to prepare yourself for the cross country.

To improve our mental health we can say to ourselves “I can do this” and “This will be great” you fake it till you make it and then it gets carried to your heart. When you’re running and you feel bad you can say encouraging  things like “I will do this” and that seems to be really helpful. Professional athletes often have trouble with this but now is a good time for you to start.

That was mentally preparing what about physically preparing? Well good question. At school we do running but at home you can prepare well too. You can have a healthy balanced diet and get plenty of rest at home you will have lots of energy and it will be burned of. As well as some of your body fat. That gets burned when you do exercise and turns into energy.

When the race starts you can go at a nice easy jog. Because then you wouldn’t have burned up all your energy and won’t have trouble running the whole way. You can also pace yourself. Go nice and easy the entire way because then you won't have to stop or walk some parts.

Those are my tips for preparing for the cross country. I hope that they are useful to you. Who knows? You might even come first next time.

Task Description: For this task i made a new dock filed it and turned it in. I wrote in my Work using the structure T.I.I.C (Title,Introduction,Information,Conclusion). I then posted it onto my blog to a high standard.

Attitude Puberty Talk Recount

Today Tony from attitude decided to talk to us about puberty. He told us that we physically and mentally change while we go through this. He started with a talk for both of the genders and then broke down to different parts.

First he talked about how our bodies physically change. He told us that we grow hair everywhere, we get pimples everywhere and we sweat …….... Everywhere. He told us to always have a plan. One thing he told me that I thought was interesting was that if your skin is dehydrated then your skin has no dots when they do the test.

Then he went into the mental changes like when you are going through puberty you seem to be more embarrassed by things. Like when your mum and dad do “embarrassing things” we are all like “Ugh mum dad please just stop”. We also notice that relationships change as we go through puberty we seem to notice the other gender. But he said we should just keep hold of our friendships.

Overall what “wonderful experience” it was.

Roasting Marshmallows on a Stick

On Wednesday the 10th of October my brothers, my dad, my stepmum and I all decided we would roast marshmallows on a stick and eat them with biscuits while my dad got the big clay pot and got the fire prepared Jayne and I went to the supermarket to get the Marshmallows and other supplies. When we got back the fire was going and things were ready to start roasting dad gave me a sharpened stick and i put on a marshmallow. My first marshmallows were a bit black and crisp but they still tasted delicious. Then I tried doing it just above the flickering flames. and it was the perfect brown shade. I at off the crispy bit then roasted the inside and did that until the marshmallow was completely eaten. A few times I put the marshmallow between a jaffa chocolate thin.

The holidays are a good time to do things like roast marshmallows. You should do it too instead of being a slouch and watching Netflix all day. Its healthy to

Beach Life in the Country

The Sun's Ray's are like a warm Kiss
Apollo's gift is a wonderful bliss

If I could i would bottle it up
In a jar or maybe even a cup

Then i could take it anywhere
And be in bliss everywhere

The sun warms the sand which slips through my fingers
And leaves a tingly feeling which always lingers

When we leave there's cows all over the road
we think we've past them But theirs more a whole load

This is what its like at the beach in the country
Where the beach is quiet and the road is crunchy

Rich and Famous P.O.V

Walt: Consider Both sides of an argument

In my personal opinion I think that being Rich and famous in a celebrity situation wouldn’t really make me happy. For a lot of celebrities being rich and famous is just a homing beacon for paparazzi or scandal or social media. A lot of celebrities that are children of other celebrities are also pressured like everyone is expecting them to be almost as good as their parents, but they want to be something different than their parents.

To be honest I think I would just want to be rich. Because I could get a lot of opportunities that not much people could get. I could help my children and family and that is what would make me Happy. I think that I would rather help people than entertain people in music and movies I would make a lot of money being a doctor or surgeon.

But some famous people aren’t celebrities. Some are really famous authors like J.K Rowling and Rick Riordan. They don’t earn as much money as the celebrities but they are pretty famous and they seem happy because people aren’t as obsessed with them. So I think I might like to be an author fame wise. That would be the only fame that would make me happy.

Task Description: For this task I made a google doc and started writing my opinion on wealth and fame on the doc. I then shared it onto the class discussion. after i shared it onto the class discussion i posted it onto my blog with a Walt, a Task Description, a Title, and Labels.

Remake of Rumplestiltskin

Walt: use descriptive vocab to paint a picture in your readers mind

Once upon a time there was a miller and he had a beautiful daughter. One day the miller went to the king and boasted about how her daughter was amazing.

“She is the best girl in the land sire.” said the Miller “No one is fairer the her she has fair golden hair and glistening green eyes and uhh … she can do amazing things like weave gold from straw.”

That caught the kings attention. He ordered the miller to bring his daughter to the castle. He took the beautiful miller's daughter to the hay storage room.

“Make this straw into gold.” Said the King, and with that he slammed the door, locked it tight and walked to his buffet. The Miller's daughter wept and wept for she could only make straw into silver. Suddenly a little man came in.

“Do not worry” said the little man “I will spin this straw into gold for you. But what will you give me in return.”

“I will give you the ring from my finger” said the miller's daughter and she slid off the ring and gave it to the little man. By the time that the little man finished making the straw into gold. The little man disappeared from sight. The king came in and was impressed. He took her to a bigger room with even more straw

“Weave this straw into gold.” He said. “Have it done by the morning.

“But sire” said the miller’s daughter “all that weaving has weakened me. I can only weave silver now”

“Very well” said the king. “Weave the straw into silver.” He shut the door locked it tight and went to his brothers wedding. The miller’s daughter weaved the silver and never needed the little man again, and many years later she married the king and they had a beautiful baby boy and lived happily till the end of their lives

Benefits of exercise song Lyrics

This is a remake of the lyrics of the song Don't worry 'bout a thing. It is an exercise remake and it shows some exercising vocabulary things like physical, cardio, and other things I hope you enjoy.

Title: Don't worry 'bout a thing/Your health and body

Original
Madcon ft Ray Dalton
Ooh we can own the night don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Ooh we can own the night don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
I know we'll be alright don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
I'll take you to the future
Forget about the past
You can keep all of your secrets
I swear that I won't ask
Let go of all your troubles
I don't care where you've been
The only thing that matters now
Is where the night will end
Them bright big lights are shining on us
That beat so tight it makes you wanna
Get up, get down like there's no tomorrow
Like there's no tomorrow
Like there's no tomorrow
Ooh we can own the night don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
I know we'll be alright don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing (c'mon)
Ooh we can own the night don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Let's get down to business
And show me what you got
Just keep the record spinning
The music never stops
You wanna live forever
And reach above the stars
Let's take it to next level
Just light the spaceship up
Them bright big lights are shining on us
That beat so tight it makes you wanna
Get up get down like there's no tomorrow
Like there's no tomorrow
Like there's no tomorrow
Ooh we can own the night don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
I know we'll be alright don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing (c'mon)
Ooh we can own the night don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Yeah on the rooftop
Surrounded by the stars and the views hot
Ain't nobody thinking 'bout what you got
Everything's ours, wanna dip? Get a new spot
Yeah, don't worry, don't worry
The night never ends, no hurry no hurry
Shorty look thick and the lines get blurry
And the nights in your palm so we might get dirty
DJ, let the beat play, make a heat wave, when you replay this
Tonight we gone party like it's D-Day
Young and free saying this the one on my CK ****
The moon is the light, sky is the ceiling
The low is the base and the high is the feeling
The world is the club, all in 'cause we can
This' one for the books don't worry bout a thang
Ooh we can own the night don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing (I got you)
I know we'll be alright don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
(C'mon!)
Ooh we can own the night don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing
Don't worry 'bout a thing

Why you should exercise and what it does for you? - By Bethan

Do you like running? No? Do you like dancing? Yes? They may be different but they give you the same results: They Both give you an adrenaline rush, they both give you sweaty pits, they are both aerobic exercise. Once you finish reading this piece of writing you will want to get up and go for a run, or go to zumba class, or do something that gets you sweating.

The first reason that you should be doing exercise right now is because It reduces the risks of obesity, stroke, heart disease and a whole lot more. Exercise helps you in so many ways it gets the heart pumping which gives oxygenated blood to the brain, you can see how that would help you in you term essay right. As well as giving good blood to the brain it gets your lungs working as well, meaning more oxygenated blood, meaning happy brain.

Exercise also helps the release of hormones which make your brain cells increase in growth rate. It helps refresh the brain plasticity which help form new connections in cells in a wide range of cortical areas in the brain. In a study done at the university of british columbia it has been proven that exercise helps increase the size of the hippocampus.

The final reason you should be exercising right now is because every time you sit down it increases the amount of energy that gets turn into fat. The more you exercise the more fat you burn. Many children these days are obese because they are sitting down more than they are running around doing exercise.

So get up off your butt and run around. Go to zumba! Why are you still here? Go away, stop reading this. I’m telling you to go away and ride your bike or walk your dog or do something that will get you sweating. Because that is the exercise that helps you get better in life.

Sustaining Ourselves

Walt: address the factors that can affect our well being

Next to each of these scenarios write down which area of your wellbeing is being affected - social/whanau, spiritual, mental/emotional or physical. You might find that they affect more than one area

Going for a run

Playing a sports game with others

Going to church, the marae, temple...

Listening to your favourite music

Eating fresh fruit and vegetables

Learning from a grandparent or caregiver

Taking part in a cultural club or activity

Getting enough sleep

Imagine you are part of the following scenarios. Make a decision that will positively impact on your wellbeing and note which aspect of your wellbeing is affected.

You and your older brother have been given some money to buy food for you and your younger siblings for the next few days. You are tempted to buy take away, but you have to buy enough food for breakfast, lunch (for school/pre-school) and dinner for two days.
In this scenario I would count how much money there is look online at the shopping centers website and try to fit in the food with the amount of money i have been given.

You are having a really bad day and feel yourself getting angry and upset. You had a small argument with a friend earlier in the day, but you are now really angry at them. The bell will be ringing in ten minutes and you will have to sit next to this friend. What could you do?
I could Confidently walk towards my friend and sit down i would turn to her and apologise if he/she doesn’t reply then i will give them time to think about it if he/she forgives me then I will get back to being good friends

You have just changed schools and are missing your old friend and activities. At your old school you played for the school rugby team, but you have not played sport here, except for in P.E.
I would try to keep in touch with my old friends while Making new friends in school and I try out for the rugby team.

You are Tongan, but your parents were born and grew up in New Zealand. They taught you English since you were born so that you would find New Zealand life easier, but they did not teach you much Tongan. At school you see other students speaking Tongan and participating in Tongan clubs and dancing. Although you feel happy in New Zealand, you wish you could connect to your Tongan roots.
I would ask my parents about my roots and ask them to take me to my grandparents to learn the language and then I would participate in Tongan things.

Dangerous Decimals

Walt: identify the relationship between fractions and decimals

Decimals are fractions of 1 whole.
0.1 is 1/10.
0.01 is 1/100.

What is 2/10 as a decimal? 0.2

What is 6/10 as a decimal? 0.6

What is 7/100 as a decimal? 0.07

What is 18/100 as a decimal? 0.18

What is 1/1000 as a decimal? 0.001

What is 7/1000 as a decimal? 0.007

What is 24/100 as a decimal? 0.24

What is 55/100 as decimal? 0.55

What is 12/10 as a decimal? 0.12

0.5 + 0.3 = 0.8

0.6 + 0.2 = 0.8

0.7 + 0.5 = 1.2

0.5 - 0.1 = 0.4

0.3 + 0.9 = 1.2

5/10 + 0.5 = 1

1/10 + 0.47 = 0.57

5/100 + 0.21 = 0.26

Task Description: For this task I made a copy of the doc and then put it into my Math Folder. I then answered all of the word questions and moved onto the symbol questions. When I finished I posted it onto my blog with a Title, a Walt, a Task Description, and Labels.

Fabulous Fractions

We are learning to identify the relationship between fractions.

What is 2/4 of 50? 25

What is ½ of 50? 25

What is 4/4 of 8?   This is the same as 8/8

What is ⅕ of 10? 2

What is 2/10 of 10? 2

What is ⅓ of 12? 4

What is 2/6 of 12? 4

What is 1/13 of 26? 2

What is 2/26 of 26? 2

What do you notice about these fractions?
After the first one the second one has the same answer.

Show your working for the remainder of the problems

I have 2/16 of a cake at a birthday party. I keep going back for more and eat another  6/16 of a cake. What fraction of a cake have I eaten altogether? 2/16 + 6/16 = 8/16

⅓ + ⅔ =  ⅓ + ⅔ = 3/3

⅙ + 2/6 = ⅙ + 2/6 = 3/6

12/25 + 3/25 = 12/25 + 3/25 = 15/25

I have 5/21 of a cake left over from the party. Then I give 3/21 of a cake to my sisters. What fraction of a cake do I have left over? 5/21 + 3/21 = 8/21

½ + 2/4 =  1

3/6 + ⅔ = 1  ⅓
⅕ + 2/10 =  ⅖ / 4/10

Team building recount

Walt : use a variety of sentence structures and punctuation in our writing
Year 7 team building was fun. It was one of the funnest things i have ever done. We did all sorts of activities that brought people out of their shells. Let me tell you what happened.

The first things we did we're very productive like making a banner and creating a piece of material and put it around our wrist or around our calf or around our hair. We then had a chant to share with our banners. My group was called the purple panthers and the leaders were me and King. We got called up to share our our Chant. The year sevens counted us in and we said our chant: “Purple Panthers! Come at us we’ll knock you down! Purple panthers! We’re the ones who wear the crowns. Purple Panthers!” Clap, Clap, Stomp, Stomp, “Raahh”

My favourite activity though was the cooking. We made pikelets with a very simple recipe. The recipe was this:
1 cup of flour
1 cup of milk
1 egg
Me and King Mixed all the ingredients into a batter witch we could tell was ready because it was light and fluffy. We buttered up the pan and then we put in a ladle of batter and made it nice and round. I had such an amazing relationship the the spatula whenever i was about to flip i would go "1,2,3, and flip!". I turned the pike let over and the pike let was nice and brown. I turned it over again and it was brown on both sides it was ready to be decorated.

I went to the table where Ms. Sio and some girls were decorating the pikelets. I picked 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream, Chocolate chips, Jelly topping, and whipped cream. It was delicious and it made my mouth explode with it scrumptious taste. I think i had about three that day.

I think a few days after camp my stepmum’s friend came over and I decided you know what i’m going to make some pike lets for my brothers and Deb’s son (Deb is my stepmum's friend), and the recipe was so simple that I think it will stay with me forever. Thank you Ms. Sio for sharing the recipe with everyone and teaching me how to cook the pike lets.

Task Description: For this task I made a copy of a google doc and then i put it in my writing folder. WE were supposed to only do one thing about team building but i did one paragraph about 1 and the rest of the recount was about another.

Fractions Finale.

Fractions Finale

What is ½ the same as? 2/4

What is ⅓ the same as? 2/6

What is 2/4 the same as? 4/8

What is ⅙ the same as? 2/12

I want to add ½ with ¼. First I change ½ to 2/4 then I add

⅓ + ⅙. ⅓ = 2/6 + ⅙ = 3/6

¼ + ⅛.  ¼ = 2/8 + ⅛ = ⅜

How can I change ⅔ into sixths ( 4/6)?

How can I change ⅔ into twelfths (8 /12)

⅓ + ¼ = 7/12

⅓ = 4/12   ¼ = 3/12

⅓ + ⅕ = 8/15

⅓ = 5/15  ⅕ = 3/15

⅙ + ⅛ = 14/48
⅙ = 8/48   ⅛ = 6/48

⅓ + 1/7 = 10/21

¼ + ⅕ = 9/20

⅓ + ⅖ = 11/15

1/10 + 1/100 11/100

1/10 + 1/1000= 101/1000

Eleanor and the Dragon

In a land far away from the one we know, a land with dragons that breath fire, dragons that roam the sea and make it steam, dragons that burn the crops that farmers carefully planted trying to feed families. A land where men were essentially stronger and better than girls in every way possible. In this land there was a small, scared but kind girl called Eleanor. She had straight auburn hair that went down just above her waist usually worn in 2 braids. Light blue eyes that twinkled when she stood in the light and a small nose. As far as her parents knew she was the prettiest girl in the village.

One night she was awoken by the sound of three bell chimes then a pause and then three more bell chimes. “DRAGON RAID!” Yelled the chief. Eleanor grabbed her bucket and then rushed to the well. She never liked the violence she saw to the dragons. Her mother was in the front of the line she grabbed some water and dragged it to the fires on her house. Eleanor was about to gently dip her bucket into the water when she saw an unbelievable thing. A night dragon, one of the most rare species in the land was shot down. She dropped her bucket and then sped in the direction she saw the dragon fall. She quickly grabbed a dropped knife about the size of her hand. “ELEANOR!” she heard her mother scream “GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!” Eleanor didn’t even look back. She had to free that dragon. She had to.

When Eleanor found unevenly sliced and skewered trees all leading in one direction she figured that was where the night dragon was. He was in a little dark cavern that she and her friends often played in, she needed light so she grabbed a stick and ripped a long strip of her brown dress off. When she had made the torch she rubbed 2 rocks together and then sparked the torch to life. She hastily climbed down into the cave. When she found the dragon she nearly cried.

It had been gashed five times across the side of its torso. She assumed the dragon had been gashed by the trees. Eleanor forced herself to look away from the oozing gashes, and noticed the dragon was staring at her. she cautiously walked up close to the dragon. The dragon just stared at her.
“That's weird shouldn’t you growl or snarl?” Eleanor said
“Just finish me off already” the dragon replied
Eleanor dropped her knife. The dragon looked down at it and then looked back to her. Eleanor was gaping at the large male dragon.
“Well are you going to kill me” said the dragon
“You did it again!” said Eleanor “You talked!”
“Yes I did, all dragons can do it. So are you going to kill me or what”
“Wait what?” Eleanor said confused “Why would I kill you? I’m not like the other people I came to free you.” To prove it she picked up the knife and skilfully started to cut him loose. Then she carefully slid the rope across his body which was as black as the Night Sky yet it shimmered and glowed with stars.

Once he had been fully freed he gracefully but limply climbed across the cavern. She never noticed the glow worms before. When he was on a ledge she could properly see his features. Apart from the gashes across his torso he was beautiful. He had a Gray underbelly that stopped at his neck. Purple horns and purple eyes, and black all over. He saw her examining him and shifted to match the glow worms on the roof. Eleanor stared in wonder. The dragon chuckled.
“Thank You” said the dragon
“No need to thank me.” said Eleanor “But may I ask you What is your name?”
“My name is Chardet”
“Well that's boring. I think i’ll call you Night Sky.”
“Night Sky. I like it”
Eleanor decided to see him every day and care for him. Until he was ready to go back to his own home.

The dragon raid was over when she got back, her plan was to play dumb when she got home. Her father and mother were talking to the chief. Eleanor silently tiptoed across to her room. She stashed the knife in her cabinet and climbed in bed. She ruffled up her hair, lied on her bed and worked hard on taking measured breaths. She heard the chief go and her parents walk over to her room.
“Oh.” said her mother “The heat must have gotten to me. I must have been hallucinating”
“But just in case.” said her father “We will question her in the morning”

The next morning her parents cornered her at breakfast.
“Where did you go last night?” Said her mother
“What do you Mean?” lied Eleanor “ I was with you the whole night putting out the fires.”
“Were you?” said her father “Because we have told you that every night once the fires are put out you come straight home and we searched all over and you weren’t anywhere”
“That’s because I was at Home…” Lied Eleanor “... In my bed”
“Very well.” said her father “Do your chores and then go play”

Once Eleanor had finished milking the cows and feeding the chickens. She changed out of the brown dress and replaced it with a tan dress and white apron. She grabbed a needle and a spool of thread, she hid the knife in her apron and quickly ran to the cave. When she got there she picked up the torch from the other night and lit it aflame. The dragon saw her and climbed down with that same limp grace from the other night.
“You’re going to have to come out of the cave if you want me to be able to stitch you” said Eleanor
The dragon just nodded and went out into daylight. When he walked out into the light Eleanor gasped. He was at least 16 metres high when he was on all fours.
“My goodness” said Eleanor
“What is it?” said Night Sky
“Your ferociously tall. I’ve never seen anything so big”
Night Sky chuckled deeply. He stood up on his hind legs , Eleanor gasped again he was at least double 16 metres now. Night Sky went down onto all fours and moved his wing so that the gashes could be fully seen. Eleanor took out her needle and thread and then started to stitch the dragon up. The dragon watched her with unmistakable curiosity.

“There you go.” said Eleanor “All stitched up. Um.. I hope you don't mind but can I see your wings?” Night Sky replied with a smile. He opened up beautifully even wings. They were about 13 metres each. Eleanor marvelled at their beauty and length. She decided to play around with him, he didn’t mind at all she wanted to see how strong the wings were, he showed her by slicing a tree clean off it's stump. She wanted to see if dragons had amazing healing factors. She looked at his gashes and then noticed that the blood was drawing itself back in and the scales were growing rapidly. Eleanor touched the stitches and they popped out immediately. She touched them all and then they all popped out. The gashes grew over. “Tomorrow.” Said Night Sky “I will take you on my back and fly you across the lands that you humans haven’t inhabited.” Eleanor liked the sound of that.

The next day Eleanor woke up early to get her chores done she harvested some corn today and gave her  mother a break. She grabbed some lunch and then went over to the cave where the dragon slept. When she got there the dragon was patiently waiting for her. He smiled when he saw her.
“Hello Eleanor” said Night Sky “Are you ready for the flight?”
“Yes” said Eleanor “Is it true that dragons can land on the clouds?”
“Yes it is. You could do it too if you wanted to”
“Really. Because I brought a picnic basket. Do you like steak?”
Night Sky chuckled “Yes it’s my favourite”
“Good because I packed it raw”
Night Sky lowered his wing. Eleanor hesitated before slowly walking onto it she went into the crouch position when she went onto his back and then magically he changed his skin so that it was sky blue. He got a running start and then he took off.

Eleanor dared herself to open her eyes and unbury her head from the crook of his neck. To her wonder she could see the ground from the side of Night Sky’s neck. It was beautiful, she could see a great waterfall landing into a crystal blue lake completely untouched by men. She saw free birds flying across moors covered in heather and snowdrops. She saw herds of dragons slumbering in caves dragons of all sorts. But most of all she saw the shedded scales that made the patterns in the jagged rocks spurting out of the ground.
“Can we go down there?” asked Eleanor
“You want to have a picnic down there?” said Night Sky
“No. I want to collect scales from all sorts of dragons. They look so nice on you.”
“OK. But promise me one thing, do not make any noise”
“I promise”

Night Sky flew down onto one of the jagged rocks Eleanor saw the dragons and felt a twinge of anxiety, but she swallowed it down. She looked at the ground for some scales, she found a royal red scale, then a midnight blue scale, and then a sparkly silver scale, until she found a scale that was a pure rose gold she walked over to get it. That was when everything went wrong. Eleanor didn’t notice the slippery surface on the ground until she picked up the scale and pivoted on her foot she fell backwards with a cry her hands broke her fall but the cry echoed. She put the scales in her picnic basket and then ran towards Night Sky. A few dragons woke up but Eleanor was already gone with Night Sky.

Once the flight was finished they landed on a fluffy white cloud. Eleanor lay her red checkered blanket on the ground. She threw Night Sky a hunk of raw steak. He chewed 2 times before he swallowed. Eleanor placed a meat pie on a plate. She grabbed her scales, and lay them down on the cloud.
“What kind of dragon does that one belong to” said Eleanor pointing to a snow white scale.
“Snow Dragon” Replied Night Sky
“What about that one?” a scale that changed around from Blue to orange and to gold
“Dawn dragon. They’re most strong at dawn.”
“Figures. How about this one?” The rose gold scale
“That one belongs to the queen of all dragons she is extremely strong she can live to 10,000 years and then generate her own egg to take her place, it must have shedded when she was flying across the land of dragons. If she finds out you have a scale she will have my head and yours and wreck your village so never take it out to the dragon lands”
Eleanor shivered at the image of such a beautiful creature causing so much destruction.
“Well then.” She said “Now that you’ve told me that I’m never going to let anyone see it except me and you.”
But they were already too late, because they never noticed the stealth dragon lurking in the clouds. It flew away to tell his master….. The queen.

The Page

Walt: Express creativity through the form of writing.
One sunny day a man was reading his most favorite book on his most favorite bench. The book was called Mr Tandy’s Adventures. When he got to page 37 he felt very happy, but when he went to turn the page the most unbelievable thing happened the page wouldn’t turn and yet he’d turned it all those other times before. He pulled at the page and he pulled at it some more, he put the book down on the bench placed his feet on either side on the book and pulled with all of his might but the page just would not move. He called some people over to help him move the page over, they pulled and pulled and pulled but the page just would not move. They decided to call the fire department and they attached a hook to the page but it just would not move. They called up some carvers and they brought their hammers and chisels and tried to carve the page unstuck but the page would not move then the man who owned the book started to scream and he screamed and screamed and screamed until he woke up from a dream he looked at his bedside table and there was the book he skipped to page 37 and he hesitated before turning the page to his favorite picture of a dog riding a horse and a man chasing the horse. He smiled and then fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
Task Description: For this task I made a new doc and then searched my mind for ideas and i came up with a few different ones and then this beautiful idea popped up so I started writing. i had to highlight the simple complex and compound sentences. I did the simple ones in yellow the compound in green and the complex in light blue  Then i posted it onto my blog with a high standard.

Fractions decimals percentages.
