The European Union and what's going on with it.

Image result for the euToday me and Granpa where just conversing over breakfast then somehow we started talking about Politics and then one thing leaded to another and I found myself watching a documentary called the Brexit. It was all about what the European union is and what it does.
I tried to take notes but halfway through I was getting tired of pausing the video and playing it back and the notes that I had recorded got deleted maybe because I didn't save them? (I'm still trying to figure out my new phone) So i'll try recall things from memory.
The European union is a group of 28 countries unified, It's supposed to be a democracy. But first we must understand what a democracy is.
Democracy comes from ancient greek. Demos means the people. Democracy is supposed to be that the people choose who becomes the leader. The elected official is supposed to serve the people not dictate them. In return they get a little bit of the power and the people can take it away from him anytime. At least thats the ideology of it.
The European union is made up of seven main istitutions which include, the European union parliament, the council of the European union, the european union council and the european union comission, as well as other seemingly pointless institutions.
The comission is appointed by the government and the members of the EU aren't recognized by most of the public. Not much of europe recognise their own politicians. *cough*mygranpadoes*cough* and don't get me started in the parliament.
Members of Parliament don't get a say in laws. This means they cant: Propose legislation, oppose legislation or even appeal legislation. They basically have to agree on everything the unelected comission says, and they get payed more than they should.
That's right people are getting paid in the EU more than they should. There is literally a mall for the people who work in the EU. If someone loses a comercial job outside of the EU they'll go to the EU and they'll become "an elite". And then their prices go up because the public have to buy things from this crappy company who's prices are higher than the quality of their products. It's not fair.
And don't get me started on the regulations. I found out that there are around 454 regulations for towels you wanna know how stupid that is. I actully can't say what word I should use to describe it but it starts with an R and its in one the the black eyed peas most famous party songs. You know what makes it even more dumb. There are around 36 regulations for radiators. Radiators. 36 for radiators and 454 for towels. How did they make it like that. It's stupid. Just plain dumb. Now britain is leaving because they want freedom to trade with whatever countries they want and I dont disagree.
The European Union doesn't seem to be doing much to help Europes Economy and It'd be better if it didn't exist.

A great time at the Hunterian.

The Hunterian is a museum in Glasgow University. A university I want to go to when I grow up. When we walked in there was a model of the area around Glasgow University and a stone slab people had put into a fancy and elaborately decorated chair.
The Hunterian was full of very interesting things like body parts in jars, some diseased and some preserved in top notch health conditions. It also had stuffed siamese twin animals. I saw a deer head with giant antlers I think it might have been a prehistoric ancestor maybe, or a deer with some sort of condition that made it really big. It also had some ancient roman artifacts such as peices of stone carved with latin enscriptions, roman pillars, roman jewlerry and roman tools, it was all very cool since I really like ancient civilizations. There was a section with minerals as well as artifacts from around the world. It was a truly interesting exhibit. They even had some Maori figures and Taonga. Once we had finished that exibit we went up the stairs and then we saw the works of a man who was influential in modern medicine I cant remember his name but if you visit the hunterian its up the stairs to the left of the second part of the place.  I looked at inventions by Lord Kelvin and if i remember correctly i noted down something about a tetrakaihedron which is like a way to equally store cells I'm pretty sure but forgive me if i'm wrong. Actually google it and then comment down below what it is, if i'm right comment that too. Once we had finished the exhibits we went to see the cloisters which where rapped with little lights and it was magical.
I hope you have a wonderful day and I miss everyone down in New Zealand.

Rainbow Swirl Cake

Walt: Reflect upon my actions and see what I should have done to make the situation better.

Today I made Rainbow swirl cake and it was very Tasty. I used this recipe and it was a pretty simple and easy to follow recipe. I only used one 23 centimetre cake tin so it didn't bake right the first time. The second time around I used a 20 centimetre cake tin twice to make 2 layers so the second attempt will be much better. I haven't iced the second attempt yet so I have only had the first attempt and it was very tasty. I am hoping that the next attempt will be delicious. I'm sure that it will be great!

The rainbow swirl cake was real change from my usual baking which is normally just vanilla cupcakes. I really enjoyed this cake. It made me feel like I was a kid and I love rainbows. So this was a fun cake to make. I reckon I've learnt that we have to follow the recipe precisely and get the right amount of time and quantity....... Isn't that a fun word, Quantity.

Anyway hope you enjoy and try out the baking recipe!

Beach Life in the Country

The Sun's Ray's are like a warm Kiss
Apollo's gift is a wonderful bliss

If I could i would bottle it up
In a jar or maybe even a cup

Then i could take it anywhere
And be in bliss everywhere

The sun warms the sand which slips through my fingers
And leaves a tingly feeling which always lingers

When we leave there's cows all over the road
we think we've past them But theirs more a whole load

This is what its like at the beach in the country
Where the beach is quiet and the road is crunchy

Summer learning journey: Day two: Activity 1

By the look of this Wharepuni I think it would have to be very big to fit in everybody in the village. My house has got a hallway that goes down most of the house and 6 of 7 of the bedrooms in the house the toilet is outside of my room and the bathroom is at the end of the hallway. When I look at the Wharepuni I think it reminds me of a Marae and a Marae is like a Maori hall. So I think that my house doesn't look like a wharepuni.

Summer learning journey: Week 1: Activity 1

Te Ika-a-Māui The summer learning journey gave me a link to a story about a boy called Maui who goes on a fishing trip with his brothers and fishes out the north island of New Zealand. The Summer learning journey told me to find three facts about Maui. This is what I found out.

1. Maui is a very determined boy: He is willing to do anything to prove that he can be as good as his brothers at the least he would even make his nose bleed

2. Maui Can get really angry: In the story his brothers anger him by telling him that they will not let him fish with them because he is too small but they were probably stopping him from fishing with them because he hasn't had any experience and he was younger.

3. Maui was probably often stressed: Because he probably lived in the shadows of his older brothers meaning he was probably always trying to live up to the peoples expectations that he could be as good and maybe even better than his brothers so it was probably stressful when people were comparing him to his older brothers

The bottom Right picture of me was when we were at the bottom of the driveway to my Nana's house  and i decided to put my feat into the stream at the side of my Nana's driveway. My Nana's driveway Goes up a hill that has many rocks witch are really fun to climb on and my Nana's house has an amazing view that looks out above the ocean and the beautiful wildlife of Aotearoa.

Winter Learning Journey: Day 4: Activity 1

The whales that were stranded on that beach were very unlucky and the eight whales that stranded after the first bunch were very lucky.

This is what they did to keep the whales alive

They put towels, blankets any type of fabric on the whale but they make sure it doesn't cover the blow hole.

Then they get any type of container and then fill it up with water and keep on pouring it onto the the whale.

Walt: Create your own New Zealand Flag

Task Description: For this task I made a google draw. I decided to add PNGs of a silver fern and Kiwis. My idea for a flag was to keep the original flags colours but give it my own originality I think that i have chosen a really good flag. I then took a screen shot it and put it on my blog with a Task Description a Walt, Labels and a Title. By the way the image attribution for the ferns and the kiwi are below.

22 Apr 2017 14:23:04.jpg

At The Beach

What’s your favourite thing to do at the beach? I like to swim, I also like to dig holes in the soggy part of the beach. Do you like to swim.

Today I went to the beach with my Step Aunty and Step mum and Dad my cousins came as well they are so cute. One is Called Elise she is the oldest and the younger one Is Ayla. we went to the beach and got our clothes all wet and sandy. I went into the water and my objective was to have nothing above the water. But i had to keep my head above the water so I could breath.

Serj the dog Aunty Becca (Step Aunt) owns loves to play fetch so we got a stick and threw it to him. We threw it in the water in the sand and he could not stop running. Roman and Kauri did races and Justice made his little island out of sticks and wet sand. It was very stable.

In the end we went back home Justice went in Aunty Becca’s car and Elise stayed in our car. Before we went in the cars though I gave Elise a piggy back ride with the jacket on top and Justice held Ayla in the baby strap thingy.
