Final blog post for 2017 (at school)

Today is my last day to post something on my blog so i am going to say goodbye but don't worry I am going to post in the holidays I will also do the summer learning journey.

I think my favourite things about this year is being first in academic in my school and going to camp ta Kawau island and having an amazing time.

For the holidays i am going to the blue lakes so I will be blogging a lot about that to

Term 4 Immersion Assembly

WALT: use exciting language in a recount

Do you like music? I do. This term our school's theme is about music which means we are going to learn about music.

The school theme is Musical madness which as you know is all about music. We started the immersion assembly with doing the team items, most of the items were about how music makes us feel and how we react to different types of music. Some of the teams are making their own soundtracks. Other kids in my class would have a favourite but i don’t the items were all just too good.

Team 4’s item was hilarious. Our teachers were in a vehicle listening to funky tunes and playing with little instruments for props. It was a remake of the apple music ad, but instead we are composing our own music. If you do not know what the apple music ad is and would like to hear it to get an idea of what the teachers did search up Taylor Swift vs Treadmill.

I hope i can learn how to play the piano, and how to read music. That could be a bit hard though. I hope to learn about some of the history of certain instruments like the piano. As well as learning i would like to listen to fun tracks.

I think that this term is going to be amazing. Don’t you think so too? I can’t wait for us to start learning about music.

Cyber smart Monday Madness
Today we were learning to be safe with ads online because some ads are not so good and they are scams. so we decided to learn about how to be safe when it comes to ads and being online. So we went on to a website cool maths games and i'm being 100% honest we did not go on any games and then we took a screenshot and put it on google draw we boxed the ads in red and the games that are from the websites green.

Image Attribution Example

Task Description: For this task we had to search up an image and attribute it because we are doing cyber smart Monday. I decided to search up one of my most favourite things Happy Cats  and i wanted to modify it so that it looked even more happier. I searched up happy cat went into tools made it labelled for reuse with modification and then put it in a google draw. I attributed it and modified it then i posted it onto my blog to a high standard.

 Task Description: For this task we created our own picture books within our reading groups. We each designed an illustrated a page for the story. Once the books were made and printed we got to read them to a Year 1 class. Afterwards we gave the books to the class. Here is a digital version of the class.

Task Description: For this task I made a copy of the presentation and put it in my maths Folder. I knew my feet size and it is 22.5 cm so what would it be like 3 times bigger? Well we were put to the test. we had to go around measuring two objects of our choice with our feet. We had to multiply the size of our feet the number of times we stepped across it. Once we had finished we had to post it on our blog with a high standard that means we had to have a Title, a Walt, a Task Description, and Labels

Castaway Writting

Walt: write from the first person

My eyes flew open. I see blue skies and clear water. I start crying screaming and being a ninny if you don't know what that is search it up. I’m still in the ocean so i decide to look around and i see an island all these feelings pop into my head i saved civilisation and i get out of my raft, tie it around my leg and then swim. Luckily there is a friendly dolphin but my raft pops i’m on the island. “HELP” I cry “HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP” i cry again then i look around. no civilisation “oh what’s next then” i say “ giant lizards, tsunamis”

I walk around then find some logs sticks and fronds i think out loud to myself: “well the sun's getting real low so i have to build a shelter.” I gather up all the materials i need so i can build a shelter. I start to wander and find this clearing in the woods. I start to lay my things out. I find these stumps just lying there must have been dead trees. I build a shelter.

I am so hungry i haven’t eaten for days i could eat a whole island. I look around the beach and find these oysters. I lick my lips. Grab a sharp stick and SNAP! “The stick broke! Those must be strong oysters” I said i start to look around and find a rock, it looks like the head of a spear “PERFECT!” I cry out. I grab the rock and wedge it into the bottom part of the oyster. It's a bit hard at first but the oyster starts to loose it's grip. It's off the rock i decide to eat it then look at the ocean it's full of tropical fish. My stomach grumbles. I gather some flax and shells and go to my rock anvil i start to rub the shell on the rock it starts to turn into powder i shape it into the shape of a hook. I tie it to the flax rope i made by plaiting it. I put the oyster on the hook and fish. I got it!

I think it's time to make a signal. I gather some materials. Including :coconut shavings, a rock, a piece of wood, and a stick. I make a little tinder nest and put a notch in the wood i put bark in under the notch and then rub with the stick and “FIRE!” i cry happily “now i can be rescued”

After making lots of smoke by putting in a lot fronds on it. I here a helicopter coming and it is loud! I don't think i have seen or heard a helicopter in years. I start putting more fronds on the fire and then start to make smoke signals and the helicopter lowers down a rope. I climb on and they pull it up.
